Ah-hah!
I'd been experimenting off and on with techniques for making insects, arachnids and crustaceans (see Crawley Things). So I thought up a lone survivor of the horrendous Bug Wars and made him in iron.
An amusing footnote: When it came time to fly home from Halifax, no one had thought to arrange packing for the War Bug so Robert had to carry the damn thing in his lap on the plane, much to the amusement of other passengers.
About 24" wide overall, steel, copper, red oak. Forged in numerous
pieces and assembled with mostly-concealed welding.
